Disabled

Disabled

Man in a wheelchair, people see disability
Brilliant cells of the brain, they are his ability

How can he achieve resounding success?
When everywhere he has to fight for, access

Time and energy spent on working the bureaucracy
Are these the fruits of governments in democracy

Future looks like a forest in mist
Disabled, you are last on the list.

Poets note: As a disabled person, reflects my life.

Love -Pleiades –Poem by Win Phatak

Pleiades is a small poem of seven line and a single word as a title. Simple rule to follow is that the first word in each line begins with the same letter as the title.

Love

Living with abandon and free will
Longing for someone can’t sit still
Levels of anxiety will increase
Love makes you want to please
Local pub is now so boring
Life is much more than chick scoring
Lessons of life are learnt in love.

This is a  Pleiades style poem about how being in love changes a man’s perspective.

Cinquain –Poem by Win Phatak

Cinquain is a small poem of just five lines. Adelaide Crapsey developed the cinquain; it has a strict structure based on syllable count. Crapsey criterion for a cinquain is five lines of accentual-syllabic verse, in which the lines comprise, in order, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 1 stresses and 2, 4, 6, 8, and 2 syllables. Crapsey always titled her cinquains, effectively utilizing the title as a sixth line. A cinquain depends on strict structure and intense physical imagery to communicate a mood or feeling.

Abortion

Why, why
Are you killing
The unborn female child
She is the future of our race
Stop now.

This is a Cinquain  style poem conveying the anguish about killing unborn girls in India.
